About Mary Lou

Mary Lou has a long standing history with nonprofit affiliations. Originally, she began Clothesminded, a nonprofit dedicated to providing recycled business attire from the community to welfare to work recipients. Additionally, she began the Arizona Wind Symphony and donated it to it's current director, Bill Richardson. She has since helped create Spark Your Heart.org, worked with Seattle Children's Hospital, Hopelink, Eastside Musical Theater, Choral Arts Northwest, Star Guild, Spark Your Little Heart Guild, Music Center NW, Washington Wind Symphony and Seattle Wind Symphony. After 20 years of making a difference in the Seattle area, she will be heading to the East Coast in April 2020 to make her mark.

Washington Director for the Northwest Sarcoma Foundation

From May 2019-March 2020, Mary Lou served as the Washington Director of the Northwest Sarcoma Foundation. She was thrilled to promote this organization and their mission to provide hope, education and support to individuals and families dealing with this cancer. She created a new vision and theme for the gala- "Knight Life Gala- Slaying Sarcoma" which translated to the annual Dragonslayer Walk.


Broker - Re/Max Alliance 

Mary Lou has been a Realtor/Broker for over 19 years and a multi-award winner with internationally renown Re/Max Alliance. Service is her mantra when working with clients. Having experience and knowledge in every aspect of the contract and representing her clients during a transaction (either purchase or sale) is vital to her success. 

Clarinetist and Promoter

Mary Lou has played clarinet for over 40 years. She has played professionally with several wind bands, including the Northbrook Pops, Microsoft Symphony, Washington Wind Symphony and Seattle Wind Symphony and began the Arizona Wind Symphony in 1999. Today, she teaches and assists other wind bands, jazz bands, and promotes their concerts. 

Teaching

Mary Lou is a dual certified, highly qualified teacher in English Language Arts and Social Studies. From 2016-2020, she was a teacher with K12 Insight of WA, teaching over 600 students in Psychology, Sociology, English 9-12, Washington History, and  Advisory in Lessons from 7 Mindsets. Additionally, she was selected as a  Teacher Mentor and K12 Outreach Promoter.
